Dear Friend of the Petit Family Foundation:
“Go forward with the inclination to live with a faith that
With these words Dr. William Petit memorialized his wife, Jennifer Lynn Hawke-Petit, and his daughters Hayley Elizabeth Petit and Michaela Rose Petit and created the Petit Family Foundation to honor their memory and continue the kindness, idealism and activism that defined their lives.
These recent weeks and months have been particularly challenging as the initial judicial process begins to approach closure. During this difficult time the shining stars that were Jennifer-Hawke Petit, Hayley Elizabeth Petit, and Michaela Rose Petit, what they represent and what was lost once again comes clearly into focus. The emotional and spiritual support provided by so many during this difficult time remains deeply moving and greatly appreciated. In memory of these three remarkable women, the Foundation’s mission remains that of fostering the education of young people, especially women in the sciences; to improve the lives of those affected by chronic illness and to support efforts to protect and help those affected by violence.
With the support and generosity of so many donors and supporters the following is a partial list of grant recipients that have received funding from the PFF:
• BE THE CHANGE COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARDS (Cheshire & Plainville)
As the Foundation enters its third full year of providing funding to the good causes consistent with its mission, and as we continue to honor the memory of these wonderful women, we are thankful for your past and ongoing support. The outpouring of community and individual support has been truly remarkable and greatly appreciated.
As 2010 winds down we hope that you will keep The Petit Family Foundation in mind as you finalize your end of year charitable giving. For your convenience we have enclosed an envelope for your use.
We wish you a happy, healthy and blessed holiday season with a New Year filled with peace, hope and love.
With warm regards,
P.S. Please help us to honor the memory of Jennifer, Hayley, and Michaela by helping others. Please give as generously as you can.
